Liam O’Connor
Managing Director and Lead Consultant
Liam has held national and group manager HSEQ positions, working across a range of industries within both ASX-listed and privately held Australian companies. His strengths include systems establishment, common/civil law application, quality auditing, incident investigation, risk management, technical writing and corporate governance over business management systems.
An active member of both the Australian Institute of Health and Safety and National Safety Council of Australia, Liam has multiple appointments within multiple not-for-profit boards, acting in the positions of non-executive director, board member and committee chair.
Liam currently sits as one of eight members on the ‘International Health and Safety Committee‘ for the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (‘IRATA’); a committee responsible for providing expert guidance to over 500 member companies and over 100,000 rope access and working at height technicians worldwide.
He is also the Director and vice-chair of the Australian Institute of Health and Safety’s Western Australian Branch and was previously awarded the ‘National Diversity and Inclusion’ award from the Safety Institute of Australia, along with previous shortlistings for Australian Mining’s ‘Emerging Leader of the Year’ and ‘Contribution to Mining’ categories, and the ‘Prime Minister’s Veterans’ Awards’.
